Luanshya Copper Mines (LCM) has fired National Union of Miners and Allied Workers (NUMAW) vice president Adam Zulu for staying away from work in excess of 10 days. When queried during disciplinary hearing as to why he had stayed away from work, Zulu claimed he had been attending to union business. However, when the mine wrote to NUMAW, the union said Zulu was only attending to union business for 9 days out of the 22 days he stayed away from work in 3 months. But sources within NUMAW revealed that Zulu was fired after his voice was identified in a secret recording with Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili instructing former miners to stone Chinese nationals. Other sources within NUMAW have disclosed that Kambwili, on the other hand, has also instructed his people to stay away from Zulu after information emerged that Zulu had allegedly been previously tasked by Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda to be recording his (Zulu’s) conversation with Kambwili. This was after Kambwili’s camp learned that Zulu had been double crossing them. Zulu, according to sources, would get money from both Kambwili and the Luanshya mayor as he supplied information to both camps. When the recording emerged where Kambwili was allegedly instructing Zulu to organize miners, NUMAW summoned Zulu to its headquarters in Kitwe where he was questioned by the union about his voice in the recording which was audible enough. Zulu allegedly told NUMAW president James Chansa that he was working with the Office of the President OP and he had been supplying them with information from his meetings with Kambwili. Zulu alleged that he had even been promised protection from prosecution by the OP. Zulu had previously been accused of selling out his union colleagues after they discovered that he had secretly been given a Tata truck by the company. We talk much of ZCID this, that! Who is ZCID? If you understand who ZCID is you will be able to view and appropriately analyze the functionalities of the frequently stated organization. This organization is not a strange one or a puppet because it is a consistence of the same political parties whose membership is part of it, UPND had been in the driving seat of the very organization now a deliquent to them. We are accusing the very organization of deteriorating the political tense in this country today. It is just only a platform that can be used for dialogue as we include Commonwealth and other local groups of interest who could merely be used to facilitate on the national dialogue which must never be dimmed as of two that are PF and UPND alone. These quarrelsome politicians are fully aware of all this but just playing blame game trying to win sympathy of some ignorant Zambians, a shear waste of time and resources! Opposition Radical Revolutionary party president Vincent Chaile says ruling Patriotic Front officials should channel their energies into celebrating achievements that better the lives of people. Chaile says the PF should not over celebrate the 12 out of 16 local government election victories recorded last week. BELOW IS CHAILE’S WRITE UP This type of political rhetoric should come to an end.Politics of deception and no issues. Scooping most seat by PF in just ended by elections has given our colleagues the PF hope to plunder economy to the max hoping they are still in power for ever. PF only have a strategy of winning an election and no nothing about good governance. They take advantage of the illiterate level of the majority our people and nothing else. As a party in power should celebrate that they have managed to reduce poverty levels for our people from 95% to 35% As a governing party should be the happiest that they have managed to to create employment for its people . As a ruling govt should celebrate that our people are now able to have more than 3 meals per day . As a caring govt should celebrate that our people are now have access to clean water, shelter, free education, and good health. To a certain extend our people are to blame to their misery and poverty. If there is some thing our people take casually and unserious are elections. What motivates our voters are t-shirts and dancing at a rally.
