Following the close of the call for entries, September 14, 2017, the committee had received two entries: Kidnapped and Kati Kati. However, the latter was the only one to be get the go-ahead to the next vetting step, having cleared a lot of what the committee were looking for in a film to qualify for an entry through this category.
