MMD president Felix Mutati says he will not abandon the party because he draws his mandate from the membership who voted for him at the last convention in Kabwe. Speaking during a meeting with party officials from Lusaka Province at the MMD secretariat in Kabulonga, Mutati said he would not be leader of the party if the membership did not want him and that he will continue to save as the party president as long as the membership approved of his leadership. He said a lot things had happened and had been said about the MMD since he was elected president of the party with some stakeholders suggesting that the party leadership was compromised but that people should not mistake his silence for weakness and use it to insinuate that the party was dead because the MMD can not and will not die. “For as long as democracy exists, the MMD will survive. Unlike other political parties we have continued to show the nation that we are not a one man party and that we are indeed the mother of democracy, my election as MMD president is a clear indication that we have upheld our core values as a party which is the introduction and the practice of democracy. “I wouldn’t be in parliament neither would I be in cabinet without you, unlike what you’re being told by those that wish us bad, those that hope to see us fail that the alliance is between me and H.E Edgar Lungu, no, the alliance is between the MMD and the Patriotic Front, Felix Mutati as an individual is nothing without you his people, you sent me into this alliance to represent you and I will continue to do so for as long as you say I should,” he said. He also said MMD cannot die because it is party with vast membership across the country adding that the party will not be excited with politicking because as the mother of democracy the party membership knows when and how to do their work. Meanwhile Lusaka Province Chairperson Donald Chilufya assured Mutati that the province was intact and solidly behind his leadership. He said no distractive elements will be entertained as the province has continued quietly mobilising the party structures to ensure that the party is well oiled to participate in elections. The provincial officials further castigated their former leader Dr Nevers Mumba who continues to bring confusions in the party with what he described as pure malice and lies. He said it was really sad that Dr Mumba continues to lie that his is the president when he knows that he is not and that the former party leader should realise that the mandate to be president is drawn from the membership and not the courts. Information Minister Dora Siliya has advised the opposition UPND to tone down on their wild allegations against the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) resident representative Janet Rogan whilst seeking a meeting with her. Siliya said that it not going to help the UPND to go to town dressing down Rogan whilst seeking answers from her. She said that some of the allegations raised against Rogan were so vile they could embarrass Zambia in the eyes of the international community. The UPND has been at crossroads with Rogan over the alleged failure to publish the conflict structure vulnerability report for the 2016 general elections. Being a diplomat Rogan has had little window to respond to the savage political attacks. The post Siliya Counsels UPND on Rogan Showdown appeared first on Zambia Reports.

Black Panther bit-part-actor Patrick Shumba has owned up to his porn acts that have taken social media by storm in the last 48 hours. Shumba drew admiration across the country for his bit-part into the famed Black Panther fell off from grace just as rapidly as he had risen when images and video footage of his indiscretions that also bared his gay side. The United States of America based actor has apologized for his acts through a statement stressing that the emerging files of his porn acts were from a long time ago. OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM MR. PATRICK SHUMBA Recently there was an unsavory video released of Shumba Mutukwa to the Zambian public from his 20s. He was a young man that made a choice not all may agree with however, it does not change who Mr. Mutukwa is as a man, philanthropist, or actor. Mr. Mutukwa has grown and learned from his past as we all do. Although he recognizes his errored decision he does own up to the immature behavior in his past. There is nothing more he can do but continue to use his celebrity to better the country of Zambia. He temporarily closed down his social media accounts only because he knows there are children engaged with him that he knows should not witness the video. He asks that people refrain from sharing the video on social media to look out for young eyes. Again, he was a young man himself and is not the same youthful person he was. His life is dedicated to bettering others and what he did in his past has nothing to do with what he’s accomplished and will continue to accomplish. He has strong pride in Zambia and works hard to make the country and its citizens proud. That is his path and he has proven well beyond a doubt that who he is today and will be in the future. The man you’ve grown to love, not the youth that makes immature decisions. For any questions or statements on this matter please contact Mr. Mutuka’s publicist Larissa Long. “Thank you for understanding we all make mistakes but know I will continue to bring pride to Zambia. My growth continues in everything I do from errors to successes.†-Shumba The post Black Panther Actor Owns Up to Porn Acts…Tenders Emotional Apology appeared first on Zambia Reports.

FAZ has cautioned City of Lusaka to put its house in order or face a possible ban. There was drama yesterday when two clubs bearing the white and black strip turned up Week Two match in match against Young Buffaloes. Justin Zulu’s group found itself closed out at Woodlands Stadium which is owned by Forli Investments after Young Buffaloes had turned up for the Week Two match at the disputed venue. After the Zulu side that has registered their home stadium as Queensmaid forced their way into Woodlands Stadium, there were three teams on the pitch forcing the match officials to cancel the game. Initially the Zulu led group had headed to Queensmaid but were later surprisingly called by FAZ Deputy General Secretary Adrian Kashala telling them that their game would be at Woodlands Stadium. It is unclear how Young Buffaloes turned up at Woodlands Stadium instead of Queensmaid. City of Lusaka Football Club is split into two with the other group owned by Diego Cassilli’s Forli Investment calling itself City of Lusaka 2000 Limited while the other is labelled City of Lusaka 1970. After the incident, FAZ issued a statement warning the parties the matter had already been settled. “An interim committee headed by Mr Kaitano Chungu as interim committee chairman was appointed by City of Lusaka PLC to oversee matters pertaining to the running of the club on interim basis. “The Football Association of Zambia directed that City of Lusaka Football Club harmonize its separate factions into one team to participate in the 2018 league,” reads a statement issued by Desmond Katongo, the FAZ communications manager. Katongo states that FAZ will not condone any more confusion at City of Lusaka Football Club. He added that City had up to mid this year to resolve its issues or face the association’s wrath. “The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) considers the ongoing divisions to be an internal matter and expects that these will be resolved internally by the concerned parties failure to which FAZ will be compelled to protect the integrity of the game and may invoke protective measures which may include suspension of the club from the league. “Any group of persons failing to follow this position will be subject to the FAZ disciplinary processes,” says Katongo.
