[Vanguard] Today, the official Human Immuno-Deficiency Virus (HIV) prevalence in Nigeria is 3.2 per cent among the adult population, meaning about 3.4 million Nigerians live with the virus. Meanwhile, many people living with the virus in the country are not getting the care and treatment they need. As of March 2017, the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) report showed that only about 1.4million people living with HIV and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in Nigeria were enrolled on treatment.
