[The Herald] Chegutu West legislator Cde Dexter Nduna has engaged the National Social Security Authority (NSSA), through the National Building Society (NBS), to set up a housing scheme targeting informal traders in the town. Under the envisaged scheme, the informal traders are being urged to open accounts with the NBS, which is wholly owned by NSSA, in which they will deposit $1 per day towards servicing of the residential stands.

Florence Matanda (39) allegedly failed her Diploma in General Nurse final examinations in July and November 2015 and proceeded to duplicate a practising and registration certificate belonging to Dedani Nkala and also forged the signature of former registrar Mrs Mothobi.

[The Herald] Nearly 360 police officers were suspended from duty last year for various acts of misconduct, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Obedingwa Mguni has said. He said this in the National Assembly last week while responding to questions from legislators. "When the police officers are trained and deployed on the ground, some are doing other things that are not according to the police policy as a force, which they need to be disciplined on," said Deputy Minister Mguni.

[The Herald] An HIV-positive man who sodomised a 17-year-old boy after luring him into his tuckshop was sentenced to 15 years in jail by a Chitungwiza magistrate last week. Prosecutor Mr Loveti Muringwa told the court that cases of sodomy were on the increase in Chitungwiza. Maxwell Chisvo (28) pleaded not guilty to aggravated indecent assault before magistrate Ms Estere Chivasa on Wednesday, but was convicted due to overwhelming evidence.
