The Zambia Under-20 national team picked up their second win on their Spain tour beating Swiss side the FC Basel junior side 1-0 in the team’s second friendly match in Europe. Enock Mwepu turned provider once again as he set up Crispin Sakulanda in the 33rd minute to edge the Swiss that had four players from the senior side. Beston Chambeshi’s fledglings will next engage Real Madrid on Monday with the technical bench deciding against a match against Las Palmas that was set for Saturday on account that the lads needed a breather with some picking up knocks. On Tuesday Zambia beat Tenerife B by the same margin through Getafe striker Mwape Mumba. The team is in Spain as part of their preparation for the 2017 Africa Cup that Zambia will host and kicks off this month end. Zambia has another international friendly lined up against South Africa when the team returns on February 7 with plans to have it in that country on the cards. The junior Chipolopolo is in Group A alongside Egypt, Mali and Guinea with the opening fixture on February 26 at Heroes Stadium. Top four teams in the eight member tournament will head to the FIFA World Cup in South Korea. Zambia has only been to the World Cup twice in 1999 under Patrick Phiri and 2007 under George Lwandamina. Mazhandu Family Bus is not going down without a fight after having appealed the grounding of their buses by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA). The transport service firm had its licence suspended on Wednesday by RTSA pending investigation with the deadline lapsing today. An accident involving one of their buses that killed 10 people caused a public uproar given it as the 10th time in 12 months that a Mazhandu bus had been involved in an accident. However, Mazhandu Family Bus lawyer Tutwa Ngulube said that the firm had appealed the ban to the minister on grounds that RTSA was still investigating the matter. Ngulube said that he had since filed an appeal with the Minister of Transport Brian Mushimba and Communication to have the ban frozen until the investigations have been concluded. Ngulube said that the firm should be allowed to operate until the investigations have been concluded. Preliminary investigations by RTSA laid the blame on over speeding by the driver but a full report will be compiled the authority. The post Mazhandu Appeals Ban appeared first on Zambia Reports.
