The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled fixtures for the Niger 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with defending champions Zambia put on bye for the first round. Zambia will join the fray in May in the second round and will face the winner Kenya and Rwanda. In the final round should Zambia overcome the challenge in the second round they will then be pitted against either Sudan or Ethiopia. Twelve teams have been exempted from the first round based on their having been part of the last two editions with four more teams that made the final round. The 12 teams are Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan, South Africa and Zambia. Zambia are the reigning champions after having won the tournament on home soil in 2017.
