[The Herald] George Maponga -The Joice Mujuru-led National People's Party (NPP) yesterday threw spanners into the envisaged coalition of opposition parties ahead of next year's harmonised elections, declaring that either she leads or there will be no deal. The party said MDC-T president Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, who is widely touted as the natural leader of the proposed pact, could not do so because he was a "spent force".

[The Herald] Government yesterday received sewer cleaning vehicles, domestic and commercial water meters and other associated equipment worth more than $3,5 million from the Zimbabwe Multi Donor Trust Fund. The Trust Fund is embarking on the second phase of its Water and Sanitation Programme in Zimbabwe. The phase will see the African Development Bank (AfDB) administered fund releasing $36 million for reinforcement of water distribution and waste water collection systems in Harare and four other cities.

[The Herald] CHIEF Ngezi has hailed Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Tonderai Ndiraya for putting his area and the province on the map. Ndiraya won the Chibuku Super Cup last season and finished in seventh place in the championship race. His team represented Zimbabwe in the CAF Confederation Cup and bowed out in the first round. "I am proud of Ndiraya. He has done a sterling job for Ngezi Platinum Stars. I used to support Amazulu and later Dynamos but when Ngezi won promotion I became their number one fan," said the chief.
