Ndola-based football administrator Alex Mambwe has demanded an explanation from FAZ regarding the K150, 000 allegedly stolen by suspended vice-president Richard Kazala and suspended committee member Blackwell Siwale. Kazala and Siwale allegedly squandered funds that were proceeds of the association from match tickets of the encounter involving Zambia and Nigeria. The two officials allegedly transacted on behalf FAZ with government. Records show that Kazala and Siwale collected K1, 650, 000 but the money FAZ received for the transaction was K1, 500, 000. When FAZ treasurer Rix Mweemba made inquiries as to when government will pay the difference, it was learned that the officials had actually been given the full amount. FAZ president Andrew Kamanga later suspended Kazala and Siwale pending investigations and subsequent submission of the report to the FAZ council. Kazala has refused to recognise Kamanga’s decision claiming the FAZ boss did not follow procedure. The Chingola businesman has since launched a campaign to pass a vote of no confidence in Kamanga at the AGM next year. However, Kazala has been dodging queries of whether he collected the money or not. Both Kazala and Siwale are contesting their suspensions using dark corner methods but when asked to explain how much they received on behalf of FAZ councillors, they are running away. FAZ councillors are demanding to know where their money has gone. Vocal administrator Mambwe posted on Facebook, “Pls can someone save Zambian football by asking people to explain where our K150,000 went. Coz the account at Football House had not balanced. Cash from point [A] was K1,650, 000 but before reached FAZ [received] it, [it] became K1,500, 000. “The treasurer [Rix Mweemba] is at pains, he can’t reconcile [the books]. Remember we need to clear this from suspense account. Am shocked that people [are] still talking about procedure of suspension and yet the account is not yet balanced. Failure to balance this is already an audit query. u don’t need ACC. u need the police.” The post Thieves Kazala & Siwale Must Account For K150, 000 Belonging To FAZ Councillors appeared first on Zambia Reports.

Chilubi Member of Parliament Rosaria Fundanga caused apprehension among male Members of Parliament when she said that most of them never moved with their wives in public as they had not invested in them. Debating on the budget for the Office of the First Lady which falls under cabinet, Fundanga said the country should empower the First Lady as she was a flag carrier for the country whenever she travelled. Fundanga appeared to have veered into delicate terrain unsettling several male MPs who loudly protested but the fluid speaking lawmaker stood her ground argued that the First Lady was an important office that had taken prominence at international gatherings like the United Nations and African Union. She wondered how a First Lady could fly the country’s flag if she was denied resources to represent the country. “Even at household level if you empower your wife she will be of better help to you. Many MPs here are ashamed of moving with their wives here or going out for dinners with them because they have not invested in them,†she said. Fundanga said there were people who still thought a woman’s place was in the kitchen. “You can’t have a President with a weak First Lady…they are invited to international conferences and they represent the country at that level,†said the wife to former Bank of Zambia governor Dr Caleb Fundanga. “The UN has a forum for First Ladies, the AU so we must take this matter seriously. In any case Mrs Lungu is not the last First Lady.†And Vice President Inonge Wina said that the insinuation that the First Lady’s Office was being funded to provide a second salary for President Edgar Lungu was preposterous. “The insinuation that the funding of the Office of the First Lady is meant to give President Lungu another salary is preposterous,†she said. Responding to Mazabuka Central MP Garry Nkombo who said the office needed some form of legal framework to justify its funding Wina said the office was already legal but fell under cabinet. A K1.5 million budget was approved by parliament under the cabinet office. The post Chilubi MP Riles Male Lawmaker Following Remarks Over Wives appeared first on Zambia Reports.
