Three heads of state are expected to visit Zambia next month at the invitation of President Edgar Lungu. The three Heads of State are President Rajaonarimam Pianina of Madagascar, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo. Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba said President Rajaonarimam Pianin – of Madagascar who is also chairperson of COMESA is scheduled to visit Zambia from June 7th to 8th, 2017. Kalaba explained that during his visit, possibilities of establishing a joint permanent Commission of Cooperation between Zambia and Madagascar will be explored. He said the two heads of state will also deliberate on matters of regional importance. Kalaba said the Rwandan President Paul Kagame is expected in the country from June 18 to 19 this year. “Rwanda has one of the fastest growing economies on the Africa continent and like Zambia, has made strides in its social-economic development,” Mr Kalaba said. And Kalaba further explained that Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo will undertake his visit from June 26 to 29 and he will officiate at the opening of the 5th Zambia International Trade fair in Ndola. Kalaba reiterated Governments’ position on the importance of enhancing cooperation with other Africa countries for sustainable development.
