Zanaco and Zesco United will stride onto a rain sodden pitch this afternoon to battle for the Barclays Cup final at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. Four time champions Zesco United will hope to add a fifth crown while Zanaco is desperate to claim the trophy that has eluded them since inception in 2007. The two sides have for most of the season been nursing a rivalry over league honours, which the bankers have claimed ahead of Zesco United. With both sides richly assembled there will be a lot to fight for on the pitch with the bankers looking to the striking prowess of Saith Sakala, Aubrey Funga and Fashion Sakala to lead the attack while on the opposite end will be in form Idriss Mbombo in league with Jackson Were to do damage. The Barclays Cup remains the only piece of silverware available for Zesco United and therefore may be expected to give it their best shot. On the Zanaco bench Numba Mumamba will be looking to cement his coaching credentials with silverware as he settles in the hot seat at Sunset Stadium. In some way today is a repeat of the 2010 Barclays Cup final when Zanaco lost 2-0 to Zesco United who have won it in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2014. Kickoff is at 15:00 hours with the match also live on pay television SuperSport. (SOURCE: BOLAZAMBIA) The post GRAND FINALE: Can Zanaco Cash Barclays Glory? appeared first on Zambia Reports.
