[Ghanaian Chronicle] It was after Mass on Sunday November, 13, 2016 as I was exiting the chapel, when a parishioner stopped me and asked whether I had heard what had happened in Nana Akufo-Addo's house. I said, "No. What is going on?" He then pointed to another parishioner, who claimed that as he was coming to church he heard over the radio that the police were been asked to go to Nana Addo's house. The UPND were back in court today in the matter they want the Lusaka High Court to determine whether the Chief Justice abrogated the constitution by swearing in President Edgar Lungu and his running mate Inonge Wina. In a matter before High Court judge Mwila Chitabo, the UPND has contended that the Chief Justice was wrong to swear in President Lungu as he was never declared winner after the court dispute. UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and his running mate Geoffrey Mwamba have petitioned the court on whether Article 101 and 103 were abrogated by denying them a fair hearing. The PF legal team has applied that certain respondents be struck off the list as they enjoy immunity like President Lungu and Wina. Judge Chitabo adjourned the matter to tomorrow when preliminary issues will be addressed. He said that the applications by the PF can only be heard after the preliminary issues have been ironed out. Hichilema and Mwamba sat through the court session. The UPND has carried on the legal battle after having seen their petition thrown out by the Constitutional Court. In another attempt to bring back the matter, the UPND matter was thrown out on account that it was an attempt to re-litigate a matter that was thrown out. They have remained fighting in the High Court with the promise to take the matter to international courts if it fails at home.
