[East African] Chinese mining firm Chuanshan will invest $40 million in exploration and mining of diatomite at Marigat in Kenya's Baringo County. This will be the second of such operation in the Rift Valley, after African Diatomite Industries Ltd at Kariandusi near Gilgil town. Diatomite is used for manufacturing paints, toothpaste, plastics and absorbents.
