[SAPS] On 8 November 2016, Vryheid Regional Court convicted and sentenced Simphiwe Mpisi Fakude (24) to 20 years imprisonment for rape. On 3 February 2014, at Emadwaleni area in Vryheid, a 20-year-old victim was at home when the accused who was armed with a bush knife forced the door open. He threatened the victim with a bush knife and raped her before fleeing the scene on foot. A case of rape was opened at Vryheid police station.
