[The Herald] Government says it is committed to assisting winter wheat farmers with combine harvesters to speed up winter harvesting at a time when farmers are beginning to panic as the rainy season fast sets in. Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Cde Webster Shamu on Monday said although wheat farmers had a fruitful season, their harvest was being threatened by lack of adequate combined harvesters.

[The Herald] Police in Zvishavane have arrested three men for allegedly fatally assaulting a suspected thief in the town. Kudakwashe Ncube, Sonboy Ncube and Jeremiah Donhora (all aged 22) appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Mr Archie Wochiunga facing murder charges. They were, however, not asked to plead to the charges. Mr Wochiwunga remanded the trio in custody to November 15.
